About Us

We are a village Playgroup set in the heart of Twyning, running from the local Village Hall. We are a registered charity and the group is run by experienced staff and managed by dedicated parents who make up the committee.

We follow the early years foundation stage (EYFS) and endeavour to provide a safe and stimulating environment for children to learn through play so the children can learn to express themselves, to develop their skills and to be socially confident promoting all areas of your childs development.

Twyning Playgroup is Ofsted registered and we offer term time sessions to children from the age of 2 through to school age.

Monday       9am - 1pm

Tuesday      9am -  3pm (Preschool)*

Wednesday 9am -  3pm

Thursday     9am - 3pm

*Preschool is for 3 year olds and over.

Our team of staff are highly motivated and passionate about their roles and are always updating their training portfolio's. Each child is assigned a key worker who will work closely with both child and parents, we offer settling in sessions as well as home visits to ensure a positive relationship is established. Every child is an individual and we tailor activities to ensure that your little one flourishes, develops and learns. We use an online learning journal to enable us to share and record your childs journey through playgroup.

We have very close links with Twyning Village School, where most children move on to when they leave us. The Reception Class Teacher will visit Playgroup and the pre-school children will also visit the school on many occasions, supporting them as individuals and as a group in their transition to their Reception year at school.

We are very fortunate to be surrounded by fantastic local amenities that the children can walk to safely from Playgroup, in the middle of the village the children visit the park at the TRAC site and on alternate Tuesdays we take the children to forest school at Twyning Park, where the children can enjoy the freedom of the grounds and experience the outdoors for play, stimulation and learning.

We are very keen to promote healthy eating, with your help, we provide a healthy snack daily. We provide milk and water at snack time; however it is important for your child’s independence to bring a labelled water bottle for them to access during their day. Fresh water top-ups are always available. Please provide a nutritious packed lunch for your child to enjoy each day.

Please also see the following NHS website for information about the Healthy Start scheme which provides vouchers for milk, fruit and vegetables for those families who are eligible:
